Visas and finalising arrangements

All of the team have now arrived in Kathmandu and we all have all our kit. We have been making some very last minute purchases such as lighters and dvds.

We have completed our Chinese visa application paperwork and handed it in to Iswari at Himalayan Guides Nepal (www.everesthimalaya.com) who will make sure that we get a visa into Tibet.

Iswari Paudel is well known for facilitating expeditions in the region and has previously helped Chris Bonnington, Alan Hinkes, Ranald Finnes, and many others.

We are confident of getting into Tibet once the border opens.

Yesterday we had a briefing on the oxygen giving sets that we will be using on our summit bids. Adventure Peaks have opted for the summit oxygen system which is fast becoming the recognised best industry practice type of equipment to use.

We are about to do some more food shopping then pack for our short acclimatisation trek on the south side of Everest.
