Let me introduce George

The Ecuador volcanoes expedition is almost upon us – two nights till we fly out from London and I have yet to pack before I start heading south tomorrow. This website mentions quite a bit about me but who am I going to Ecuador with?

There are two other people from the UK coming with me – George Ming Shi and Angharad Roberts. So in this post I thought that I should introduce George to you so that you know a little bit about him. He wrote the following last night to tell us about himself:

“A keen hill walker since final year at university, it wasn’t until I moved to the north coast of Scotland upon my graduation that I was introduced to technical mountaineering and Trad climbing. I joined the Assynt Mountain Rescue team to meet those of similar interests and received a tremendous amount of training and experience. My first and only winter climb to date was a new grade IV route on Quinag lead by Charlie McLeod who Kindly named it “Chili George’s fine day out”. Since my departure from the north, I ventured into high altitude mountaineering by attempted Mt Blanc in August stopping short on the top of du Tacul due to avalanche risks and now aiming to push up to 6380m on Chimborazo via 5 gradually higher volcanoes in Ecuador. ”
