Introducing the third member of the Ecuador team

George and I have been out in Ecuador for about a week now and the third person on this expedition with us is Angharad Roberts.

During the exped, we have been finding out information of her and she has kindly supplied the text below to let us introduce her.

“I grew up in North Wales and spent a lot of time on (smallish) walks but didn’t really get the bug till I started travelling. Starting with Mt Kinabalu and moving on to the Inca Trail, 3 months in Nepal and finally Kilimanjaro. I have been gradually testing my tolerance for altitude.

I also have some experience of climbing, mainly top-roped on sandstone.

This will be my first winter mountaineering experience and I have never used crampons or an ice axe so I can’t wait to get out there learn some skills and have a go.”

Yesterday, she was introduced to ice axe and crampon techniques. She successfully used these new found skills to summit Cayambe in Ecuador today with us.
